"Reliable Login Most of the Time"
I’ve had a solid experience with the login overall. It works smoothly most days, and I rarely run into any trouble getting access. It’s reassuring to use something that feels dependable and doesn’t get in the way.

"Great archives, if you can survive the viewer"
Newspapers.com has a ton of interesting stuff to dig through, which is impressive, but actually trying to read it can feel like wrestling with the page viewer. The zoom jumps around, dragging the page is weirdly clunky, and I keep ending up clicking things I never meant to click when all I’m trying to do is read one article.

For a site built around viewing old newspaper pages, you’d think that part would be smoother, but here we are. It has that charming “early internet” feel, just not in a good way, especially on a laptop. The content is great, but the basic reading experience is annoying enough that I’d have a hard time saying it’s worth paying for.

"Cancelling Was Way More Annoying Than It Should Be"
I tried to cancel my newspapers subscription and... it was a hassle. The cancellation option wasn’t easy to find, and it felt like I kept getting pushed around instead of just being able to stop the subscription. I don’t mind paying for something I actually use, but cancelling should be straightforward. I ended up spending extra time trying to figure it out, and it really left a bad taste. I won’t be signing up again.

"I mostly use newspapers for digging up…"
I mostly use Newspapers.com for digging up old family history, the clipping tool makes it so easy. When I find something about a relative, I can save it right away and share the link with family without any hassle. I like knowing those little pieces of history aren’t just disappearing or getting forgotten. It saves me a ton of time, and I’d hate to miss out on finding or preserving those details.

"Ancestry login is getting old"
I access Newspapers.com through my Ancestry account, and it’s way more annoying than it should be. It keeps asking me to sign in again, and the whole linking process between the accounts feels confusing. The records themselves are great, but the account setup is frustrating enough that I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth staying with it...

"Good for family research, even if the cost adds up"
I’m not saying Newspapers.com isn’t useful, because it definitely is when you actually find what you’re looking for, especially with old family history stuff. I found a few things that were really interesting. But for how often I use it, the subscription does feel a little expensive. it was frustrating to run into certain papers that were locked behind the extra plan after I’d already signed up. I’ll probably keep it for a bit while I’m researching, but I’m not totally convinced it’s worth paying for every month.

"Saved items are still a mess"
I really do like browsing the old papers, but the whole saved items area is frustrating. I’ve got clips and pages saved all over the place, and finding anything later is way harder than it should be. Folders or better tags would make a huge difference. I feel like I’ve mentioned this before and nobody actually read the message, because it’s still just me scrolling around trying to remember what I saved. For what it costs, I expected this part to be a lot more useful...

"Really glad I could read the old papers"
I’m not totally sure how to explain it, but this just made things feel so much easier. I was reading some older papers, and the zoom and screen reader both worked fine for me. It was one of those little things that made a big difference.

"Bottom line, Newspapers.com has made digging through..."
Bottom line, Newspapers.com has made digging through old articles a lot less frustrating for me.

I’ve been using it for family history research, and the metadata has been surprisingly solid. Most of the time, the dates, newspaper names, and locations line up with what I’m seeing in the actual image.

I still double-check things because old records can be messy, but I don’t run into major mistakes very often. It’s not perfect every single time, but overall it’s been accurate enough that I really trust it.

"Loads fast every time"
Newspapers.com has been really quick for me. Like, I’ll click into a page and it just opens without making me sit there waiting, which I really appreciate. The search doesn’t freeze up either, unlike a few other archive sites I’ve tried. And even when I zoom in on old newspaper scans, it stays smooth. Just makes the whole digging-through-records thing a lot less frustrating

"Super easy to use on my phone"
I’ve been using the app on my phone it’s been way easier than I expected. I ended up finding a bunch of old family notices while just sitting in the car, which was cool lol. The pages load well, and saving clippings is really simple. My only small gripe is that I wish the zoom was a little smoother, but overall I’m really happy with it.

"I’ve been using Newspapers.com for some family history…"
I’ve been using newspapers.com for some family history digging, it’s been easy to figure out. The search is quick, pages load without much waiting, and saving clippings is super simple. At first the filters annoyed me a little — like, why am I suddenly confused by boxes and dates? But after messing with them for a bit, I actually really like how smooth everything feels...

"Pretty good with my library, uh, for the most part"
I’ve found it helpful overall, especially since I can use it through my library. Uh, the only downside is that the library access can feel a bit limited sometimes, so I don’t always get everything I’m looking for.

"A Surprisingly Nice Bit of Family History"
I’d been poking around old family records for a while, mostly out of curiosity and partly because I kept hearing little bits of stories from relatives that no one could quite confirm. I wasn’t really expecting to find much, honestly. But after spending some time searching, I ended up finding my great grandma’s wedding notice, which was such a cool little piece of family history to come across.

"Notifications are easy to manage"
I’ve had a good experience with Newspapers.com, especially compared to a few other sites I’ve used where the alerts can get out of hand fast. The notification settings are really straightforward, and I can choose what I actually want updates on. I’m not getting spammed all day, which I appreciate. It’s been working well for the searches I’m tracking.

"Really glad I found this"
I ended up finding a bunch of old local papers I’d been looking for, even from some really tiny towns I didn’t expect to see listed. There were a few missing years here and there, which was a little frustrating, but overall it felt solid and useful. Just one of those things I was oddly really happy to come across. 4 stars from me

"Pretty easy way to save old newspaper stuff"
I’ve been using Newspapers.com mostly for family history digging, and the download button is what makes it useful for me. I find the article or clipping, save it, and then I can print it without having to fight with a bunch of settings or whatever. It’s not complicated, basically just click, save, print. The copies come out clear enough to read, so no complaints there. For what I need, it works really well.

"The search has honestly impressed me"
I mainly use Newspapers.com for searching, it’s worked better than I expected. I’ve been able to find old family names and places quickly, even when the scans aren’t the cleanest. Sometimes I have to play around with the wording a little, but it still saves me a huge amount of time. For me, it’s been worth it

"I wasn’t totally sure what to expect from…"
I wasn’t totally sure what to expect from Newspapers.com, but I’ve actually been happy with it. The image quality is, better than I thought it would be for some really old newspapers. Most pages zoom in cleanly, and I can usually read the tiny print without having to struggle too much. It’s made searching for family history stuff a lot less frustrating than I expected...
